Will's Entry: What a Week

I'm so glad that this week is almost over! Having the 1st fall on a Tuesday as well as losing a member of our team has left me swamped. I felt like I had to accomplish 4 days of work before Tuesday was even done. Obviously, I feel less stress now and am blogging.
I even left a question for ESPN's chat. We'll see if they publish it:
Nash is a genius! I've noticed that when an opposing big man is one of the last making it back on defense, Nash actually uses him as a screen (a moving one, no less!) to get rid of his defender on drives to the hoop. Am I imagining it, or have you ever seen any other guard use the same tactic?
Yay, Kristin and Jason will be back tomorrow. Don't get me wrong, disc golfing is great - but I'd rather have my family back. Hopefully all will go well on their return trip.
Side note: I went shopping last night and I'm going to be making a Rosemary chicken dealie tonight. I found the recipe in Kristin's "Woman's Day". I promised myself that I'd be adventurous and a real cook for at least one night while everyone was gone. Wish me luck.

Going Well

Despite what I say Jason is doing a really good job being here. It really was miserable hiking in that 95 degree weather, so I really don't blame him. To finish off what we did yesterday, we went to a museum on the temples that we visited, and did the canopy tour. That was a blast.

They strap you up in harnesses and then you do a zip line in the jungle. It was a pretty fun experience. There were 8 zip lines and by the end the guide was showing us tricks to do. (mostly turning upside down) At the very last zip line he shook mine and my moms line, so we were bouncing as we went down. That was the coolest part. It felt so weird going up and down.

Ok so my first days stories. They are pretty good ones. We went to Antigua. First off we picket up some people, not a problem, we both had said prayers by ourselves, but my grandma and the other lady decided that we needed to say one as a group. Ok what ever, my mom and I thought it was a little silly. As we finished the prayer my dad noticed that there was a bubble in the wheel well. So I guess the prayer really did help.

As we were changing the tire my grandpa came up to us and asked grandma if she had another set of keys and that he had locked the keys in the car. To his defence one side of the cars windows were up and the other side was down. Thank goodness that turned out to be ok.

Wow this is a long blog today, sorry. Ok so we went to a market and bought little souvenirs, and we are heading to another on today. We did get lost quite a few times, but we got to see more of the country that way. We also stopped at a macadamia nut factory. That was pretty neat to see how they come about and they even gave us a facial. (massage on the neck and washed our face with the nut oil) Those nuts were so good I wish I bought more, yummm!

Well we were a little late coming home and to make things even more interesting we were puled over by a cop. They were randomly pulling people over to make sure they had registration papers and drivers licences. Well we didn't have the papers, but the guy didn't give us a ticket because they were missionaries. It was pretty interesting he didn't know what to do for a while.

When we got home we made scones for FHE. As we were making them, we accidentally turned on the wrong burner. Well on the burner we turned on sat the plate of finished scones. Woops. After a while the plate burst, the paper towel caught on fire, and the plate was so hot my mom and Matt burned there fingers. It was crazy. We all had thoughts of the apartment going down in flames. It had oil, so we couldn't throw water on it, so all 3 of us were blowing as hard and smothering the fire as best as we could. I blew a piece of paper towel next to the wood chopping block, but we put that fire out before it started the wood on fire.

That was one memorable day. In the end everything turned out really well. As things keep happening I keep saying, "Nice, one more story for the blog. "

15 min

Time flies when you only have 15 min to use a paid computer. I have a bunch of funny storys too tell about monday, but I don't think that I am going to be able to write them all down right now. I sure am missing Will right now. Jason has been a little hard to hand the last few days, especially when he wakes up at 5:45 am and is ready for the day. It makes it hard on all of us. Today and yesterday we were in tikal and hiked up to the temples. It was so cool to be able to see some of the history behind guatemala. It also was fasinating that the stories co-insited with some book of mormon stories. Very interesting.

Jason was not doing well in the afternoon when we were hiking. I don't blame him he was hungry, tired, and it was 95 out. We all were sweating like pigs. We were not able to do the second hike, but we got a lot of rest. The interesting thing was that the power is only on from 9-9. We had to get everything done pretty quick at night. Ok my time is up. Hopefully I have more time later. I love you Will!

Will's Entry: Better Late than Never

I wasn't sure if I'd get a chance to blog today. Fortunately, the final project that I expected to take a few hours - I'd already completed it 2 months ago. What a great surprise I gave to myself! I think I'll treat myself to Matiki's tonight.

Nothing to really write about unless anyone wants to hear more about watching the NBA or about another round of disc golf . . . Here's an interesting fact. It'll sound a little odd at first I imagine. Most of the day, I don't feel overwhelmingly lonely. When does it hit me, then. It hits me . . . in the shower. Not in a dirty way (Kristin doesn't usually wake up until well after I've showered for the day). I think it's because it's one of the rare places and times when my mind isn't occupied with other thoughts. In the shower, my mind starts drifting and I always feel empty realizing that I'm alone for the week. It's not like I'm sobbing in the shower, but it's a bit depressing. Maybe that's why I fill my day with disc golf so much.

One last thing that I thought I'd mention. On the way to work there's fence where people always leave posters announcing mission returns or birthdays and such. There was an odd one today. It said, "Hey Boys!!!! Olivia's 16 now!!!". I thought it was real weird. If we have a girl, we're telling her she's 4 until she's 8. That way she won't date until she's 20. The last thing I would want to do is give boys a "Come and Get it"-invitation. I wonder how Olivia feels about it. Just because she's 16 doesn't mean she's ready for an onslaught of hormonal boys. Oh well, that's all I have to say about that.

Will's Entry: The Blog must go on!!

Pretty exciting to see that Kristin had a chance to add something onto the Blog from Guatemala. Things are pretty boring around here. Lots of disc golf and thank heavens that it's the 1st round of the NBA playoffs. I've watched so much basketball in the last couple days . . .
I'm surprised that Kristin didn't mention the scare on Saturday. Well, I guess it wasn't really a scare for her. I got a call in the afternoon from a frantic Kay saying that Kristin's connecting flight was going to be late and that she'd likely be stranded alone in Miami for the night - again (anywhere, but Miami and the Runaway inn, please). You'd have to know about our Dominican Republic trip to get that joke. I told Kay to pull the "Pregnant young mother, with a toddler"-card if she got desperate for them to wait for her. Anyway, 15 minutes later (and 1 prayer) Kristin showed up. I guess Kay had been informed regarding the wrong flight.
Well, I wish I had pictures to upload or something, but I hope you all have enjoyed this edition of Will's report.

Airplane

Well we are here in Guatemala, and having a great time so far. Jason and I had a long 3 flights getting here, but we made it in one piece.

It is Sunday, so we went to church and we are going to have a fireside in an hour. Thank goodness Jason has been really good because church was at the MTC. We were a little out of place not wearing stockings, and Colton not shaving.

The real adventure has been being locked out. We were leaving for church and so I locked the door. Well I locked the wrong lock and we had to call a locksmith to break us in. After he tried to break in for over an hour and a half, finally someone else came and he got in in less then 10min. Crazy.

Jason has really surprised me the last day. I have been giving him animal crackers and telling him what I have been giving him. On the last flight I pulled out the bag and he said cracker with out we even coaxing him. He has actually said it a few times since. I can't wait till Will hears him.

I don't know how much I am going to update this. We have a pretty busy schedule for the next few days.

Passport trouble

Last night I went to another class at maceys. It was the start of the series again, so it was a lot of review, but it is still good to hear it all again. Now that I wont be able to go with Steph any more, I will have to find someone else to drag... Trish?

I am a little nervous to leave tomorrow. I can't believe that it has come so soon. I have not even started to pack. Will and I will go to the store tonight and buy a lot of snacks/meals and entertainment for Jason and I. I am so picky right now. I will make Will dinner and eat something completely different because I can't stomach what I made. How sad is that and I have the option of what to make for dinner. Right now I like mac and cheese, pizza, avocado chip dip, and nachos.

Well we all finally have our passports. My parents got theirs late and had to change dates, and Matt finally got his after waiting 10 weeks for regular processing and 4 weeks with an expedite on it. That is a little to close for comfort, getting it the day before we all leave.

Will's Surprise Entry

A couple things to add about yesterday:

• Our new glasses are awesome. They make even water taste better.
• It's hard to unpack from CO when I know Kristin's going to re-pack in a matter of hours.
• Jason's figuring out that it's fun to stick the discs in the basket. It's awesome just throwing to the other one when he's hanging around one. (Usually I just throw them extra-high though. I'm totally going to nail him one of these days.
• It wasn't a happy start to bowling. My first 3 were straight into the gutter - not even halfway down the lane. It ended well though, no open frames and I even forgot it was the 10th frame. Kristin bowled an 8 after my strike so I could have done better than the 182. If I could have somehow erased my first 3 rolls, I think I would have been shooting for a personal record - bummer!

Kisses

Yesterday I decided that we do not do enough fun things as a family, so we went bowling. It was a lot of fun. Jason just hung around and a group of collage kids played with them. They were Japanese, so they were very interested in him. They picked him up and he didn't mind until they put him down. He ran to me and wanted me to pick him up, just to make sure I was there and still his mom.

Humm how do I say this... I think Will and I will have to be a little more discrete from now on. Will and I were kissing and Jason saw. He came up to Will, opened his mouth, and started to wiggle his tongue. He wanted to give only Will a kiss. It was the funniest thing. I laughed for a good long time.

Tests

Not to scare anyone, but this pregnancy has not gone as smoothly as Jason's. Things have been quite different. I have had an up and down roller coaster of emotions for the past 2 1/2 weeks.

I would spot/cramp for a few days, then I would be fine, and then it would happen all over again. I have called my poor nurse 3 times in the last few weeks.

I finally decided that I just needed to find out if this was a viable pregnancy and took the HCG blood test. I took the first part yesterday and I got a call from the nurse today. She said that my hormones look great and that I have an irritable uterus (which is causing the spotting and cramping). I will still get the second part of the blood test done on Thursday just to make sure. I am still not out of the woods, but I feel better about the situation before I leave to Guatamala.

I have had such a rough morning crying off and on, that Will brought me bread sticks and rose. I am glad that I have such a supportive husband, even if he doesn't really understand.

More weekend

Well the rest of the weekend went very well. We were also able to see Will's parents. Jason really enjoyed playing with every one.

Right before we "flew" home we went to eat at red robin. Jason got his first balloon there and was so excited.




Jason also found out that you can walk in between the chairs at the airport and got stuck a few times. Funny kid!

The last thing was that the flight was an hour late. Will and I were so tired when we got home. I think we will take a little earlier of a flight home next time.

Troy and Tracie's new house

This weekend we flu to Troy and Tracie's new house. I am excited for them to own it. The weekend went really well. It was full of disc golf, shopping, naps, playing "Boo," and an ER trip. Don't worry everything is ok.

It is hard when Jason gets sick in a different city. He was having difficulty breathing and had a nasty cough. I called our doctor and they told me that any time a child is having a hard time breathing that they need to be checked out immediately. So we found out that he has RSV (broncitous), but everything is clearing up. We have been giving him benadryl and it seams to be working fine. He really is such a good sick kid. He doesn't complain about stuff like that.

We did buy new drinking glasses. Will absolutely loves them and I think they all survived the plane trip. They also match out dishes nicely. Ok that's enough for the day.

Nothing

So there was nothing to write about yesterday, so I decided not to write. Boring I know. But today I don't have anything to write about, except that Will smells. Poor guy, he only smells to me. Don't take it the wrong way Will, I still love you! If you ask anyone else he doesn't smell. I guess it is my super smeller working over time again.

2 things

The first thing is that it was free ice cream day at Ben & Jerrys. Hurray for free ice cream! It was a pretty large line when we got there, but after 25 min of waiting we had our ice cream in hand. They were pretty generous too. It was nice.

People did abuse the free ice cream. There was a couple who keep going through. I found out that they went through 7 times. Who needs that much ice cream.

The second thing was when we watched the amazing race on Sunday. The contestants went to Hong Kong. That was pretty cool. We were able to re-live some experiences and were able to laugh at Charla and Mirna when they went to the right side and took the star ferry to the wrong side of Hong Kong. I keep telling people to take the subway, but only one group listened to me. It was pretty cool to watch and actually see places we have been.

Will's Necessary Post: A Long Time Ago - In a Galaxy Far Away

I just thought I needed to say that I said those things a long time ago. They were usually good friends. It was definitely one of those things where'd I'd be wincing by the time I completed my sentence, realizing what I had just said. One of the favorites that Kristin probably would have posted tomorrow: "You're heavier than you look." (which is actually quite a bit better than if I had said the opposite!!!)

Pasta again

Yes you see it right, Jason likes pasta on his lap. Will is so proud of taking this picture. Jason even posed for it. I have to force Will to take any pictures. He hates it for some reason. See thats good because I take way to many pictures :) so we even out.

Well to make myself feel better I have decided to write a few of the stupid things Will has said. Yes he said so many that his friends started a huge list. He has actually said these things to girls.

"You look lots better in the dark." "You struggle with being nice." "Your family is not as cute as I imagined." "I feel like I am petting a dog." And the last one that I am going to put on here is "Are you important enough that I need to remeber your names?" Humm maybe I should put up some more tomorrow. It makes me feel a lot better:)

Stupid comment

Ok I forgot the funniest part of the weekend. Yes it was something that I said.

I was taking a shower and Will was getting ready for the day. We gate Jason out of the bathroom so he doesn't make a mess. Well I couldn't see him and he was making noises. I have this fetish with closing my eyes pretty much through out the whole shower so I don't get anything in them (yes water counts, I can't stand it). I asked Will why Jason was crying, and he told me that he wasn't.

I wiped my face off and then Jason made that noise again. Will asked me if it sounded like he was crying. And my response was "Well no, now that I have my eyes opened."

He has not let me live it down yet!

Singing

Jason has finally tried to keep up with the itsy bitsy spider song. I always sing it and do the actions. He finally started to do the actions too. It was so cute the first time I saw him do it. We also do the this little piggy. He is so funny once I start he will start tickling his belly. How fun.



The weekend turned out pretty good. We hung out with Matt and Mickie. Jason did however have a fever from his shots a while ago, so we were trapped at home for most of Saturday.

I can't believe it has been a year already. Matt and Mickie will be celebrating there year anniversary in a few weeks. How crazy. Ok for us it really feels like they have been married for 20 years, but still time has really flown.

Jamba Juice

Funny story... I was feeling sick all day and my body decided that I needed a Jamba Juice, so we got in the car and I was dying all the way there. "I just need it right now, come on people drive!" I keep telling Will that it will be ok because who gets a Jamba Juice at 5:30 PM, so that I will be able to walk in order and drink it with in a matter of a few min.

Will jinxed us by saying "Watch there are other pregnant women in there." Sure enough as we walked in there were 4 other pregnant women in there that we could tell. Who knows if there were more and there were a few husbands in there alone, my guess on a jamba run. How funny is that. I guess it is the perfect thing to settle the stomach.

Babies

Yes last night I delivered HD and Britany's twins on the water bed. I used a shoelace to tie off the cord and I got them all cleaned up. I was however concerned that I did not suction the second baby as fast as I needed to and that the baby might have a little brain damage. I think the baby is alright though. Britany then proceeded to get mad at me because I told her that her twins should be on a feeding schedule. I miss the days where I didn't dream so much and so realistic.

I also, for the last 5 of so weeks, get up at 2 am to go to the bathroom. It drives me nuts. I will go at 11 and then 2 and then I wake up and don't have to use the bathroom till 10. What is that. I have no clue. It is driving me nut. I drink before bed, I don't drink before bed, it makes no difference. Ehh I will chalk both up to the hormones. Sorry it probably is to much information but whatever.
