Even though it sounds like a bunch of go's Will is actually saying a Chinese tongue twister. Jason loves it.

Sunday

Yes, all in all this weekend was a good one. I had a great time. There were just a few negatives that went along with it.

Sunday Jason and I went to sacrament and then came home. Will is not suppose to teach our class alone so my mom went in with him. I heard it was an interesting hour. There is a web site that gives us supplemental stuff to do and this time we were suppose to pelt each other with socks. Then we pull out the sheet and that protects us through prayer.

Any ways I had been missing a pair of bottoms (they were folded in the sheet) and one of our kids found them. I guess he started to kick them and ask what is this? My mom quickly grabbed them, hid then, and said you will be protected with these when you go through the temple. Nice save mom!

As for the sink, it its still clogged. We borrowed a snake from a co-worker, but it was a shorter one. We will try a few other options first and then rent a longer one at home depot. Hopefully the other options work first!

Pro's and Con's

Con's

• Jason is really sick, so I had to miss a gathering and church.
• I have been thrown up on and caught it once.
• The liquid laundry detergent fell so I had to clean that up while others went to the temple. I am glad that we were able to baby sit though.
• Our sink is clogged and the pipes are leaking and not put in correctly Suzanne told us.
• We were not able to fix the pipes, so we will rent a snake tonight to try and clear them out.

Pro's

• We got a new disposal and it is put in correctly.
• I got to see family and my Grandparents.
• A lot of the Coombs family went out to eat together.
• Our car door is fixed.
• We have a bedroom now, with a bed frame and night stands!
• We put up a towel ring in the bathroom.
• And every one was able to make it that planned on coming.

Todays website is actually quite fun and relaxing. How weird. They are a bunch of tense games, but they play peaceful music. It is weird the calming affect the music has on you. I usually don't like these types of games.

Swimming

What a great idea Steph had for Brighton's birthday party. There is an indoor pool in Lehi so we went swimming. The pool was nice and heated and the kids had a blast swimming in the winter. Jason especially loved it. In the beginning he was really nervous, but after an half and hour he over came it and started to really enjoy the water.

Kai on the other hand was pretty nervous every time the bucket fell (it was full of water). Will and I are looking into how much it is for year passes. What a great family activity.

Jason's whimpering?

I knew I forgot to write something. Will came home from playing basketball and well he wheezeing. I went to go check on Jason because I thought he was whimpering. But low and behold it was just Will.



Also I finally had the hiccups and was able to get rid of them. I was watching untold stories of the ER and some lady came in because she had the hiccups for 11 days in a row. They tried everything to get rid of them. Finally the doctor put 2 fingers above both her eyebrows and held it there with a little pressure for about 20 seconds and they suddenly stopped. It was the weirdest thing, but it totally worked on me. I have also tried it on Jason and succeeded 3 out of 5 times. He is a lot harder to hold still. He thinks I am nuts when I do it to him.

What a weird website!

Desensitized

Yes, can you believe it i sleep with a blanket hog. I take 6 inches back and then he steals a foot. What ever!

It is amazing how desensitized we are to violence now. Crazy. On Monday there was a shooting in the mall in SLC. It was broadcast on all of the stations during prime time. We missed Heroes, can you believe it. I was more troubled over missing the show then the 6 people who were killed. It is interesting what makes have a reality check.

Other then that Steph and I got out of the house while the kids played with the dads. It was nice to take some time out of the day for me. It was only and hour and a half, but I feel energized again. Steph and I went to a cooking class where they made these cute swan cream puffs and eclairs. I am actually not a huge fan of the puff part, but I love the filling. Yummy. They are super easy to make. Any takers for the next wedding? Haha. After words we drank smoothies, talked, and watched the kids. It was a fun night all together.

Surprise Entry: A First

Well, it's not really a surprise entry because Kristin knows I'm writing this today. Sorry it's being posted later than usual. I'm pretty busy with our Company's annual Convention coming in less than month. So I've been working hard (and listening to the Scrubs Musical AGAIN).
The reason for this entry is that I did something for the first time last night. I talked in my sleep!!!! I've never done that before. I was having a dream about Seventh Heaven (Weird Wildon quirk: I dream about people or things that used to be part of my routine. If I haven't seen you in a while, I'll probably dream about you. My most common dreams have been my mission, my cousins, and GoldenEye, the video game. I just miss people and stuff, awwww). Anyhow, for those of you who know the show - Simon was serving his parents a weird dinner. They didn't like it so he said he had AWPRB floats planned for dessert. I started saying those letters in my sleep- which stand for A&W Premium Root Beer float. I don't think Kristin liked it very much. I was kind of whispering it so she woke up really spooked. Personally, I think she should be grateful that I don't elbow her in the eye or smack her arm in her sleep. I would mention that she used to dig under me looking for Jason, but that's probably less annoying than how I steal her blankets every night.

What a busy weekend

It was such a busy weekend. Friday was a great second Birthday. We were able to get Matt and Mickie to watch Jason. When we came home this is what we found. How funny.

Saturday was a busy day of painting and eating at Tucanos. I love that place, and yes as usual I was the last one still eating.

The rooms look great. Matt, Mickie, Will, and I knocked that room out in a few short hours. I really like the color Will and I chose. I still need to do some touch ups with the white while Jason is napping, other then that I am so excited to get that new bed frame and night stands in the room.

I love taking candid shots of every one. What a good little helper Jason is.

Friends

Jason made a new friend. They keep giving each other hugs and kisses. I caught the tale end of one. They loved playing with each other.

Ups and Downs

I could not believe how many ups and downs there were yesterday. I have decided that TODAY is my birthday instead of yesterday. Jason was a little monster yesterday and almost made me cry 3 times (no that's not normal) and on top of that we were not able to go out to dinner last night. Matt and Mickie are coming over tonight so we can try this whole thing again.

We did how ever buy new paint for a our bedroom and bathroom, which Matt and Mickie are going to help use paint tomorrow. I am super excited and painted bedroom this week and a new bedroom and night stands the week after. Wahoo!!

I guess I should explain the pictures. There I am all dressed up to go to wal-mart in my new leather skirt. I was the nicest looking person there!

Disc Golf

While we were basking in the warm sun in California we decided to make the most of it and go disc golfing. Will LOVED it. The rest of us had a good time as well.



Today is my birthday and I still feel like I am 19 years old. I wonder if that mentality will ever change. I highly doubt it. Will surprised me with a book, magnetic measuring spoons which are pretty cool, and flowers. What a sweet guy. My mom (yes I actually waited to open it today) got me a cool leather skirt. I still need to try it on, but I bet it will fit nicely.



Yesterday I made my self birthday cookies and needless to say there are none left today, so I am going to make myself some birthday Carmel brownies. I can't wait to eat them. Plus tonight Travis (my cousin) is coming over to babysit so Will and I can go out to eat in peace. What a nice guy!

Will's been Tagged

OK, Kristin says that I'm pretty weird so I hope I do a entertaining job with my items.

• My first job was at a Chinese restaurant. I was fired after 2 days. They didn't speak English and I didn't speak Chinese at the time so I was OK with that.
• I do most of our laundry folding. I have this thing where I only take the things that are at the highest elevation in the basket. It gets pretty odd when I've got 15 things out that just need a pair and I can totally see their match. It's just not their "turn" yet.
• I have a "magic toe". Whenever I can't sleep at night, I just crack the knuckle on the middle toe of my left foot. It relaxes me. It's always frustrating when I can't sleep and it's been previously cracked on accident.
• I named my blankets, pillows, and even mattress after members of the Gilligan's Island cast. My favorite is Maryann, my blanket. I still refer to her by that.
• I dress in phases, never all at once. I'll brush my teeth and put on a shirt, then shave and do my hair, then put on my pants.
• Anyone who knows me knows that I'm jumpy. Especially if I'm tired, my whole body jumps if anything surprises me. If anything moves within my "personal space", I totally jump - it's a wonder I ever got married.
• My eyelashes are a great defense. They actually go straight down. Yes, I can see my eyelashes - but a benefit is that I never get snow in my eyes.

Chances are, there's a ton more that I could have put so I wouldn't be surprised to see a follow up to this. Hope you all enjoy!

Will

Museum

Jason is still sleeping so I have decided to write more about the weekend. The weather was so nice. In Utah it was 44 degrees and while we were in California it was a nice 77. It was great. I didn't want to go home. It did make me a little sad because we won't have weather like that for another 3 months or so. How sad!

One of the activities during the weekend was to go to a hands on science museum. I love those types of places. We tried to lift a 5,400 lb car. I think Troy was the only one that was able to at the 4 spot.

Ok i do have to add this in. We had just gotten off the plane driving back to Matt and Mickie's. It was about 11 Utah time. I said, "We need to call your parents, Will to let them know we got back". He said, "No, its to late." Then I replied, "I guess you're right. It is pretty late and we don't know there phone number anyways." After Will thought about that for a while he told me, "I know my home phone number." Duhh.

Jason also went to nursery. It was the cutest thing. He sat at the snack table and fit right in.

Chinese New Year

We went out to California for the weekend to see Will's parents. We had a great time and I got a lot of pictures with the new camera (which I still love!) It was a packed weekend with family and fun.

We did so much, visit family, go to a hands on science museum, walk the mall, play set and phase ten, watch the Superbowl, have a family gathering, play disc golf, and visit the outlet malls. It was great always having some thing to do.

Women's Day Article

I receive Women's Day magazine and Will often reads it while he eats lunch. One artilce he did not like in the last publication. The article was on mothers being hot. This lady was against being a "hot mom." She felt that we should not have to live up to the medias standards and so on.

Will was so against this article that he found her comment thing on the internet and wrote his comment. She then responded to Will.

I thought a little husband-perspective would be nice. I understand the arguments against trying to be "hot" and such. (Good luck trying to appeal to the opposite sex without any regards to looks) On the other hand, if a woman uses her "hotness" to attract the man, then I would say that it is something that the fellow values. To forgo any effort in that department after the relationship has continued may leave the husband feeling deceived. Nobody likes a bait-and-switch!

Great point, Will--but that line of thinking assumes that the only alternative to "hotness" is "schlumpy fat-housedress let yourself go." Decades of mothers--too busy with kids for weekly highlighting sessions, a little soft in the middle from the work of carrying and bearing YOUR children--still managed to be attractive without having to look like 20-year-old Hooters waitresses.
I'd argue it's a maturity thing on the part of the dad if he didn't expect a little evolution in the woman he married and procreated with. (Interesting there are no "hot dad handbooks" or hot-dad expectations...)

Paula, I believe that we can agree that the desired "hotness" lies somewhere between 20 yr old Hooters waitress and "schlumpy fat-housedress" as you so eloquently described. My only complaint with the written article was that it never mentioned anything in-between. It only trivialized the media's definition (which can definitely be out of the question). It left me feeling that you were completely making light the idea of "hot" when it simply needs to be re-defined. Both members of the relationship should work together to achieve a level of hot-ness that is realistic and achievable.

Watch

I went to get my watch battery changed and well the lady broke my watch. It was so sad. I didn't realize it until we were well on our way to Costco, so last night we went to get it fixed. I was told that she could not fix it and to come back tomorrow. Are you kidding me Wal-mart 3 days in a row. It is a good thing that it is 2.1 miles away (is that what we decided mom?). Any ways, hopefully they will be able to fix the watch before we go to California. This is the best watch ever, and you can ask any mom on the Coombs side.

Besides that I still love the camera. I have figured out how to fully use it. Yeah right compensating the exposure, I will not be turning pro any time soon. Its still a fun gadget though.

That is pretty good for being a camera! Jason learned how to blow bubbles on the computer. Like I said, weird kid!

I've Been Taged

1. I can't have anything in or on my eyes, even water. In the shower I have a hook where I can hang my towel. After I get my face wet I always have to wipe my eyes.

2. Eyes again. When I close my eyes they flutter spastically. I don't mean to, but they just move.

3. At night time my back has to be completely tucked in. I hate having any air on my back.

4. I liked to eat cat food when I was younger, the dry stuff. I would sneak it from my grandma's cat bowl. It was salty, what can I say.

5. I have very distinct facial expressions when I eat something that I don't like. Will gives me stuff just to see the reaction. I just can't help it. I also make the same face when I am full and tried to get that last bit in my stomach. I end up spitting it out, even if it is the best thing in the world.

6. I still have same shirt from 7th grade and i wear it. Will hates it!

7. I got my licence when I was 18 and I still don't like to drive. When I have to go some where I ask the other person to drive sometimes. Poor Steph, yes I know it was weird driving our car. I did drive the car back home again.

8. Yes I added an eighth. I have since corrected it but I nodded backwards to the beet. Every one would nod forward, but my head would be back. I think it might have been genetic, because Jason does it now. Poor kid got passed some weird genes.

New Camera

We went with a new camera instead of a camcorder. We went with a more expensive one, but that didn't matter to us, because we still had gift certificates to Costco from Wills work party. From the few hours that I have been playing around with it, and yes I read the full user manual (nerd I know), I like it. The only down fall to the camera that I see is the compression on the videos that it takes. With the current card that I have in there (512 MB), it only takes 5 minutes and 30 seconds of video. I think we will have to end up buying a 2 GB card which takes 22 m 40 s of video.

Talking to Will now. "More money Will, yes I know, but it will be worth it. No we won't get the card until I am positive that this is the camera that I want."

Sweet Boy

Last night Will and I were out shopping for either a new camera that takes better video then what we have now, or a camcorder. We still have not decided what to do. On one hand it would be nice to have a better digital camera with a faster recovery time, but we want to be able to take better quality videos now that we have a DVD recorder. But it is all a mess because if we buy a camcorder, then we will have to buy a DVD player for the computer so I can put stuff on the blog. So on and so on.

In our family we don't like to have wet open mouth baby kisses, so we give bonks (you know like in Finding Nemo). Anyways we were in the store and it was getting close to Jason's bed time. He was really getting tired of shopping so I picked him up. He gave me a big hug, held my face a gave me a bonk, he rested his forehead up against mine for a minute or so. It was the sweetest thing in the world. These are the times that make me melt and I know that having Jason has all been worth it.

Walking

Jason is now into everything and walking everywhere. I am excited that he can now walk. What a fun kid.

Will and I now teach the 11-12 year olds at church and well Jason is very disruptive. We don't mind so much during our lesson, but during sharing time it is embarrassing. I had enough, so I took him to nursery. He loved it. He is 4 1/2 months shy of being in there permanently. I can't wait. I brought him in and off he went.

He is a lot smaller then the other kids, but he can take the beatings. Some kid (2 1/2 years) pegged him in the head with a nerf ball (how hard could it have really been?) and he didn't even flinch. He just stared at the kid and went on playing. I will start taking him in there for the last hour of church and hopefully will be able to leave him in there alone in a month or two.

If I am in the kitchen, I know exactly where to find Jason.

Parenting class

I decided that like many of you I was going stir crazy in the house, so I called up Steph and asked her if she would like to go to a PBS/BYU class held at our local grocery store. It was so nice to get out of the house with out the kids. Although I was on the phone with Mickie ordering cloths when she came, so I made Steph drive our car there. I am horrible at talking on a phone and driving at the same time, so I just don't do it.

Art had to work, so Will graciously offered to watch the kids. It was great. Parker loved playing with Jason's toys, Jason loved playing with Parker, and Brighton loved following them around. I think we will have to do it again. Plus the class gives you free children's books (who doesn't love a free book).

Quilt

I must have been crazy when I chose this pattern. I have never made a quilt so hard in my life. Ok well the only quilts i have made are square blocks, so of course this is hard. This one square took me 45 min. Hopefully I will get faster as I sew more. 1 down 80 to go. Yikes! I don't think I will ever finish.


I know kids go throw a stage where they have the "gimmies," but Jason is in a stage right now where he has the "give yous." He has to give me every thing. While I am typing this I swear I have the whole alphabet in toy animals on my lap right now. What a sweet kid.


He has been battling something for the last day. He woke up last night several times, tossing and turning. I finally went in when he started to cry the hundredth time he got up last night. I picked him up and he was burning. I gave him some Tylenol and he is feeling a lot better today. I have never felt some one so hot before, it was crazy. His fever has broke, and he is back to his normal giving self. "Thank you"

Surprise Entry: Dreams

It's the last bit of work and I'm pretty bored. Astonishingly, I've caught up to everything in my Task list and can't remember what I used to do before in my spare time.
Anyway, here's the weird thing about my dreams. Often I "wake up" from my dream, analyze it and sometimes tell it to others. After that is fairly random, but then I wake up AGAIN from my dream. Yes, I tell people about my dream and contemplate them WHILE DREAMING!!! It's the most bizarre thing and I kill brain cells when I wake up confused and get along with my day. Funny Fact: This is a Calvin and Hobbes phenomenon where Calvin dreams about getting ready for the day and then wakes up.
