Steak and Potatoes

Can you believe it Jason doesn't like my cooking how dare him. Ok I didn't eat it either, gross.

Bum in the Air

So Jason was a silly kid yesterday. I put him down for a nap and this is how he always turns out. I wish the picture conveyed how high his bum is in the air. He sleep like that the whole entire nap.

Suzanne is here for the weekend. We are very excited. We don't know what we are going to do, but I am sure it will be fun. Lucy is staying over as well.

Friday, September 29, 2006

Jason's new trick is to shake his head and make him self dizzy. he did it all through out the store.

BYU Won!

I can't believe it that BYU beat a ranked team. Good for us. Last night Jason was kind enough to tape the game for us. He suffered through the game, but the Jason's just sat and chilled for a while. Little Jason was super tired.

I really have to work on my photography skills. It looks like little Jason's feet are bigger then his head, hahaha.

I was able to get out of the house and bought some fabric to make a quilt. I think it is going to take me forever, but I am really excited to see if it turns out. I am attempting triangles.

Matt and Jason

Here is a picture of Matt and Jason last weekend. They're best buds!

Yesterday I got a break from Jason. It was wonderful. I went and saw the Devil wears Prada with Mieka. They movie was ok, not anything that I was expecting. Today I am headed out of the house, hurray. There is only so long you can stay in the house.

Gate

This is the email I sent out and the rest is banter between Will and Tracie

Ok so we have getto rigged for right now. Do any of you have a solution? I have no clue what to do to keep Jason from falling down the stairs. All suggestions are appreciated. Please help.

Maybe you should put a ramp on those stairs and make it into a slide!

You are hereby cancelled from the mailing list! Just kidding.

I thought my suggestion was rather crafty and original. It would make it fun for Jason.

As far as a ramp goes, what would we build it with and where would we store it? The thought of our kid going down a ramp head-first and heading for the ground at ramp-speed might not be the best for him.

You could the ramp out of smooth wood, maybe a table top and at the bottom of the ramp you could just put pillows so he doesn't come crashing down at ramp-speed into the ground. I'm a genius!

OK, you have WAY too much time on your hands today.

Couldn't wait

I thought this was so funny. I put Jason down for a nap today and I went in his room and found him like this. I have no clue how he got the blanket over his head like that. Silly kid!
The Weekend Pictures
So as you can see we have started to experiment with adding video to the blog. We go through youtube, but it is easy enough. Now we don't have to congest your mail boxes with videos and you can see longer videos then just 10 seconds.

As for the pictures they are from the weekend. Isn't that crazy how close we were to the field! Other then that life is going the same. Nothing really to tell you about.

Hello we're experimenting with video!

I thought this Chinese proverbs was funny. It is not economical to go to bed early to save the candles if the result is twins.

How funny is that hahahaha.
Sunday
Man this weekend was go go go for us. Not very relaxing, but fun. Sunday we had over some of Wills friends from back in the day. They came over to say his and to see Jason. They are cute girls. They filled us in on how every one has been doing. A few married, some with kids. It was fun.

We also were home taught and got to know more about our home teachers. The kid sat and played our piano for a good 30 min. He is very talented. He makes up his own music and has never had a piano lesson in his life. It's amazing how much talent some people have.

FOOTBALL GAME!
Oh my gosh. I cant wait to show you pictures of the football game. We were on the 35th yard line, 3rd row. It was great. We could yell out to the players and they could actually hear us on the side line. It was crazy how close we were. Lucy came and sat with us and we all had a blast. Even Will was getting into the spirit of the game. We dropped Jason off at Travis's apt and he baby sat for us. It was a beautiful day and we all got sunburned!

After the game we all came back here to eat and hang out. (I think we have Travis almost sold on the noni stuff, haha just a joke). It was really fun, but we forgot to drink our sparkling cider. We are making it a tradition that after every BYU win we drink Sparkling cider. I like the tradition yummm!

The picture is what Jason likes to do to dad. He sticks his fingers in his mouth and grabs Will's nose. It is pretty funny.
Friday Night
Well the house is almost all the way baby proof. We have also moved things around to make it feel more like a home. The piano is now in the upstairs living room and the rug is now in the computer room. There are a few more changes, but nothing to big.

Friday night we had one of Will's co-workers family over for desserts and games. We had a great time. They have a little girl that is 2 months younger then Jason. She was a blast to watch. I wish I got a better picture, but they had fun playing. Jason would crawl around her and Kailee would roll on Jason.

We played Carcassone, which I always manage to win and we played the German version of ticket to ride, which Will killed us in. He understood the rules better than everyone else. We will have to have them over again some time.

Rainy!
The weather has been terrible the last few days. Last night the wind was blowing so hard and it was thundering out side. It was Crazy. Will and I woke up and it was so loud I couldn't get back to sleep for a while.

As you can see Jason likes to help do the laundry any chance he gets.

Cutest Boy
I have to say Great Grandma Bragg did a great job of picking out this out fit for him. He looks so cute in his little jogging out fit. We love it.

Yesterday was clothes shopping for Jason for the new season. We didn't get him much for the winter, but we did get him a bunch for next summer. We already have 6 shirts and 3 pairs of shorts. Hurray and we are saving money! Now to just find winter clothes. We got him a jacket, a heavy coat, 4 pairs of pants (yes, Joanna with lots of pockets because there fun), and 3 shirts. We will be keeping our eyes out for more clothes over then next few weeks. It is really starting to get cold here.

Oh and I cant find any sleepers for him. How odd is that. I guess once they pass a year they don't wear them any more. So once I finish his costume I am going to get some fabric and start making him some pajama bottoms to keep him warm at night. It gets cold upstairs and I don't think he is going to keep his blankets on very well.

Hey Joanna, could we get you to make Jason one more afghan. He loves it and it would be nice to have a spare lying around. He just gets so excited to see it at bed time.

Chinese food and Cleaning up
Well Jason is starting to go every where. He lives to be independent, but he still has to be independent around me. He is always 10 feet away from me. He is so silly. So I have totally baby proofed our room and Jasons room. I am taking it one room at a time and really deep cleaning. It is looking great so far. Oh and Will and I have keep our room clean so far, it has been 3 days, so yeah!

Also I wish that we could put videos on the blog. Jason is so funny. He now makes faces to play. He was doing it all through dinner last night. It was his first time eating beef and broccoli and I don't know if he really liked it. We will have to try again for lunch.

Funny Story
So this story never made it into the blog, but it should have.
The other night, Jason was staying up f-o-r-e-v-e-r. It was past 11 and we decided that he needed to go to bed. I tucked him in bed and went to get the rest of the house ready for bed. Kristin was doing the same. A few minutes later, Kristin poked her head into his room and started laughing. I went over to see what was going on. It took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust and then I saw what was so funny.
Jason had decided to sit up and he was just sitting there smiling really big for Kristin and flapping his arms around like he does when he's excited. Anyway, we took him out and he played with our laundry hamper (clean clothes) until we finished and then went to bed. Well, we went to bed - he probably sat there waiting for us the rest of the night . . .
Doctor's, Apples, and Drawing
Jason is doing great. That is what the doctor said. He is 19 lbs 1 oz and he is 28 1/4 inches long. He is in the 50% percentile for both height and weight. So he is growing very well. I asked if we needed any special shots for Hong Kong and he said nope. Every thing went really well. Jason got his toe pricked and didn't even make a sound. What a good kid and the shot wasn't bad either. The doctor also said that his top 2 teeth are about to make an appearance soon, but that's what I have been thinking for the last month so we will see.

We bought those freeze dried apples for Jason to eat, and he LOVES them. He gets excited when I pull out the package. What a goofy kid.

And last that is a picture of Jason's first drawing. He knew he was drawing, but he dropped the crayon and then just pushed it around. None of that holding stuff, he is to good for that. Ok th epicture will come later it doesn't want to load right now. Sorry.

Ok here are some pics from the weekend courtesy of Mickie.

Sunday Primary Story
First off, c'mon Kristin - there's such better pictures of Jason.
Anyway, the Primary story goes:
We're singing Holding Hands Around the World for the presentation in October. We've been learning the sign language for both verses. They've been having trouble with the second verse so the conducter was telling the kids that they'd just hold hands with each other. One of the 9 yr olds named Matt looks at her with a scowl and says "Well, I'm making sure I hold hands with a boy!" Haha, I died laughing.

Troy and Tracie
They have finally updated their blog. Hurray for them. If you want to check it out their web page it is on my links. Just click on it, and it will take you there.
Up late again
So I can't sleep again, but that is probably because I took a nap after 5 today. What was I thinking, I know if you sleep past 5 you won't be able to go to bed at a decent hour. Sigh, Will was just so comfortable.

Well good/bad news Jason has learned how to climb the stairs. Today I was sitting at the top of the stairs and he just started to climb, with no problems at all. How the heck did he learn how to do it so fast. He has touched the stairs maybe 6-7 times at all. Oh man, now I really have to really watch were he goes.

He did really well at church today. He had a great time sharing toys with Aviary (16 months) and Lesile (7 months). Aviary was a little rough, but she has an older brother so she has to play a little tougher. Jason still liked playing with her. She gave him toys and took them away. He would follow her where ever she would go. Jason also liked Lesile. He would reach out and touch her hand and she would do the same. It was very cute.

And on that note I just had to put this picture up. Jason will shoot me when he is older, but I laughed when I saw his little plumbers bum!
Can you believe it!
Wow I just left you all hanging there with no squatting pictures. How dare us. Ok well yesterday was a really busy day. But here are the pictures like I promised.

Friday Will and I went to the mall to buy Jason a white button up dress shirt and the only one that we could find was 20 bucks. Can you believe that, it is just as much for a full one. That is crazy. We will keep looking. We also stocked up on the food storage stuff that we ate last year. Haha, we will have to start actually replacing the food as we eat it.

Saturday I went to the super Saturday and learned some tricks to making a quilt. Stuff I didn't know before. I think I am ready to make a new bed spread for our bed, once I finished Jason's costume.

We the watched the BYU football game and were very sad to see them loose. It was a really good game though, it keep you on your toes.

Then it was off to disc golf, the store, made dinner, and then did crafty project stuff. Matt and Mickie are making a clock and I am doing a tile project with the proclamation, but I cut it wrong, so I have to buy a new one. I am glad that the proclamation was only 10 cents. I am excited to see how it turns out.

The Weather
Can you believe it Wednesday was a beautiful 90, Thursday was 80, today Friday is 70, and tomorrow is going to be 58! Oh my gosh the weather really changed fast on us. I am glad there is no football game to go to tomorrow. Hopefully next weekend will be at least a little warmer. It is almost time to bring out the winter clothes. YUCK!

Yesterday was the first day Jason had Pizza for lunch. He liked it, but every time he put a sausage in his mouth he made a funny face, not disgust, but different. It was fun to watch. He also had broccoli for lunch. I was surprised, but he liked it as well. He made one face and then keep opening his mouth for more. What a weird kid we are raising.

Oh and speaking of weird the next blog we will put the pictures of Jason doing the Chinese squat. It is really funny. I think you will enjoy them, so stay tuned.

Cannery, Costume, BYU recipes, and Hot tub
Yesterday Will had the opportunity to do some peach caning for the church. They called us up and asked if someone could do it, and Will said sure. He came home pretty sticky. His job was to insert the lids in the machine. He said it was pretty boring and was sad he didn't get the chance to see the rest of the process. Maybe next time go left.

The costume as you can see is coming along very nicely. I need to sew the ears and tail on and then put all the ribbon on and I am finished. Hurray!

While Will was at the cannery I went to a class at the grocery store. We saw how to make Cookies for Dan Coats, Brownies for John Beck, Subs for Tidwell, and Salsa for Bronco. Those were what the players like to eat if you remember form the women's clinic. It was very interesting, but I won a BYU crying towel out of the drawing, go me!

Oh and I forgot to tell you that the other day Jason and I went swimming in the hot tub. Ok the water was turned down to 96 so it was more like a warm bath, but we enjoyed it. Jason LOVES being in the water. He love to splash and he doesn't even mind the water in his face (not my kid).

Again with the Boring
Well nothing much happens yesterday. Will was able to play basketball with a guy at work (Jesse). He really had fun. Will misses the days of playing basketball every other day or so.

We did try and get some gates for the stairs, but I can't figure out how to put the gates up going down from the kitchen to the living room. Those two posts have me stumped.

As for the picture it is of Memorial Day. To was a blast.
Surprise - It's Will!
I just thought I'd slip a surprise entry in to surprise Kristin.
Yesterday I got to play basketball in the evening. Of course this was after a visit to Walmart so that we can start baby-proofing our house. Kristin says that he seems a little happier now that he realizes that he can basically go anywhere he wants. Anyway, hopefully I'll be able to play basketball a little more regularly without having to drive 1.25 hours.
Today I'll be hitting up the Cannery for some service in the evening. I wonder what that will be like? Anyway, back to work!

Crawling
I don't know how I feel about this crawling stuff. I was eating my breakfast on the couch and Jason went over to the plant, then to the stairs, and to the soccer ball. Just now he crawled over to the bathroom. Hum I think it is about time we went and got safety stuff for the house. He is now realizing that he is not limited to where he can go.

Yesterday Will and I went to see Akeelah and the Bee (ok I don't know how to spell her name, but what ever) I thought it was a pretty decent movie. I think I would watch it again. I don't know if I would own it, but it had a good message to it.

The picture is of Jason and his friend Beau. He meet Beau when Mickie, Sharon, Katie, and I went to Swiss days. Beau is 2 months younger then Jason. How cute. Beau and Jason were very well behaved, some babies are mean. Jason was playing with another baby on Sunday and she keep hitting, pinching, and taking away his toys. Man alive!

The Weekend
Ok well I have so many pictures that I am going to have a hard time choosing what to put on here. Maybe I will just spread it out over the next day or so. Mickie finally sent me all the pictures over the last little while.

Well it is 12 and I can't sleep so I decided that I should write the blog for tomorrow today. So here it is. We had a blast on Saturday going to the football game. It first started off super hot and then during the 4th quarter it started to pour. It was crazy weather. They even delayed the game for 53 min because of thunder. We ended up calling it quits early because there was no signs of it stopping. It was crazy. Jason did very well at the game. He sleep through a good hour of it, which can I say he gets really really heavy after a few min of the dead weight.

Sunday we had Paul and Mieka over. That was really fun as well. Mieka and I made dinner and the guys played a little chess. HD called me right before they came over so I wasn't able to start dinner. Thanks to Mieka we were able to eat dinner at a reasonable hour.

HD and Britany are doing great it sounds like. HD is loving his internship and Britany is really enjoying living close to her family.

Date Night
So yesterday I decided that Will and I needed to go on a date. So I went and got my hair cut, dressed up, cooked an expensive meal, and made Will dress up as well. I thought it was fun.

We got Mickie and Matt to baby sit (free babysitting is always a huge plus, THANK YOU!), then we went out to a comedy club. That was not as fun as I would have liked. There were 27 people at the show, and if you have been to an improve show you need a lot of people there to make it fun. Oh well it was a night out so it was fun.

Oh and we both forget that we are in an interracial marriage. Some guy stopped us and paid us a complement. It was quite interesting, I cant remember what he said, but it was interesting. It had nothing to do with our race, but weird. (That really wasn't very descriptive now was it. I bet that paragraph just mad you confused, haha.)

Also Will loves being a dad. I think he is a great one at that too. When ever he pulls Jason out of the car seat and he is sleeping he always holds him for a little while. It is very cute.

Friday, September 08, 2006

OK, this is Dad's first entry on the blog. I'm not really sure what to write. Last night Jason was sitting next to me and fell asleep while I was watching a great tennis match at the US Open. The kid stays up forever nowadays. I don't know if Kristin's mentioned this, but his morning nap is all but obsolete and after that he stays up almost until it's time to go to bed. Speaking of bed, he doesn't usually go to bed with a pacifier, but somehow he found one. I wonder what goes through his head. Well, I'm almost back to healthy and looking forward to this weekend. Go Cougs!
Willis Turn
I convinced Will to write the blog for the day, so that will be coming after lunch. Most stuff happened when will came home.

I will add a little before Will writes... Jason Loves cherieos. He loves to feed himself, he thinks it is the funniest thing in the world. Also we used the food mill and fed Jason what we ate for dinner. I made macaroni and cheese with chicken and broccoli. I would say it was really good. It is from the Rachel Ray book number 4 if you care, just don't use Kraft cheese. It makes it a little grainy, oh and I didn't use the spices she said I just used onion and garlic powder. Yummy. Jason really liked it and he didn't seam to have a problem with the food either. He will get some more for lunch today.

Thursday, September 07, 2006

Very Needy
Yesterday Jason was very needy. He had to be held pretty much the whole day. A little of it has rubbed off today, but he is being pretty good today.

Will is still feeling a little sick today, but that might have to do with not getting enough sleep right now.

Oh I forgot to tell every one that Suzanne has an internship in Idaho and seams to be doing well and HD has one in Portland. I am glad that they were both able to find one.

We are very excited to go to the first BYU game played at the stadium this year. It should be a fun game. My dad finally got his package slow boat to china. It took a week and a half! Well from what I hear he really likes the jersey. YEAH, now he can put his flag out on game days and wear last years jersey. Those suckers are LONG, it went down to my knees when I put it on.

Wednesday, September 06, 2006

Crossed Lips
So Jason is really into this crossed lips stuff. I see him doing it all the time.

Humm nothing happened really yesterday. Will is starting to come down with something, but he said he is feeling much better today and we went out and bought Jason blocks. He has enjoyed playing with them so far. He likes to hit them on the hard ground. We also got Jason a food mill so that he can start on a little more solid of foods. I probably wont use it for a while though.

Pictures
I do have more pictures from the weekend, but you will have to wait until I can get them from Mickie!
Sunday and Monday
Picture is of Jason giving me one of his fake little smiles. He was trying to make me laugh. It worked!

Sunday and Monday were a blast as well. Sunday we went to church, came home, took naps, ate, and played games. It was fun just being able to hang out with Matt and Mickie and playing games. It was a very relaxing day.

Monday we tried to go eat French toast at kneaders, but they ran out of French toast. How the heck do a bread place run out of bread. It was crazy and sad at the same time. So instead we ate bowls of cereal.

Mickie and I went and bough some craft projects to do in 2 weeks. She bought a huge clock that she is going to paint and I am going to do a project with the proclamation. It should turn out interesting.

We then yes played disc golf again. It was way hot, so we keep Jason full of water. He didn't like being out in the sun to much.

After all of that then we went to Sharons house and had a BBQ with Caleb, Travis, Grandma and Grandpa Bragg, Matt and Mickie, and Sharons family. It was great fun. We had ribs and great corn on the cob. After we went hot tubing. Ok well we were going to take Jason into the real pool, but it was to cold for him and he just shook so we took him in the hot tub. He loved it. He keep wanting to get back in after we took him out. We didn't leave him in for long, but we had a blast talking.

I think I am all updated now. It has been a great weekend! Oh and Jason claps now.
Friday and Saturday
So much has happened since I last wrote. It was a packed weekend of fun and family. Jason is doing great and on Friday he learned to crawl. He is not crawling every where yet, but I give that till the end of this week. He just goes after toys right now. As Will puts it he has not realized that the world is his toy.

Friday Mickie and I went to Swiss days with Sharon, Katie, and her daughter Beau. We had a blast, but did not get to spend as much time there as we would have liked. Swiss days is pretty much a huge craft show, so we came away with some ideas. I also walked away with a calendar for the fridge and a zipper tie for Jason. I think he is going to love the tie.

Mickie sleep over on Friday and on Saturday we went to get stuff for the crafts we wanted to do, but no luck with finding what we wanted. My mom is going to cut us some wood, so we can be all crafty like.

We were able to see Troy and Tracie on Saturday. I was good to see them. We hung out, ate dinner, went disc golfing, and watched the BYU football game. I think they enjoyed disc golfing, Troy was really picking it up by the end of the course. I think with a little more time to play they would enjoy the sport a lot. We then dragged them over to a friends house to watch the football game. It was a blast. She had good food and a projection screen. The players were bigger then me. It made watching the game a lot more interesting. It was really good to see Troy and Tracie and we are looking forward to visiting them next summer!

Naked
Ok well Will is right, half the pictures are of him naked. In the morning I just don't get him dressed because Will is not the best at putting on night time diapers. Every time he puts on a diaper at night, Jason pees through it and so then I have to strip him naked, but I don't want to chance him for the day yet. You have to admit that I do get some great naked pictures though.

Well he is not crawling yet, but he is moving with ease now. He will be laying down and he will push himself up with no problem. He is getting stronger by the second. He is amazing me this whole week (I am not usually this obsessed with out kid).

Well last night Will and I went grocery shopping and we are going to have a great weekend of food. Sugar cookies (BYU game), sandwiches, chicken broccoli lasagna, steaks, and ribs. Oh man the grill is going to get a work out this weekend. I have figured out some tricks, so the ribs should turn out a little better this time (meaning not burnt). It should be a fun and packed weekend!
