Finally pictures

We had a blast at Yellowstone. Jason liked to point at everything. It was a lot of driving, but it was still fun to see everything. I wouldn't wait for old faithful again, that was pretty boring and it lasts forever.

Yes here is another picture of HD and Matt playing with the buffalo. How crazy are they...

This is everyone taking pictures of Yellowstone...

After the guys went out disc golfing and had a blast. Matt scored a hole in one and the rest of the guys signed his disc. Mickie and I missed it, but I guess they were jumping, dancing, and shouting. How crazy, who knew that Matt would be the first one to get a hole in one.

Sunday was a fun hang out day. We played in the park, had a BBQ, and watched a movie.

Monday was pirates. Everyone went to pirates while Will and I went to see some friends that we have not seen in a long time. It was good catching up with them. We got to try their Wii and I think that with in a year or 2 Will and I will own one. There are quite a few games for both guys and girls. Plus it was nice that you are off the couch playing the games.

We wore Jason out at their house. All of a sudden he was playing dead.

And last but not least Will and I went to Jamba Juice and got Jason his very own smoothie. It was the funniest thing, the poor kid was shivering but still drinking. We would take it away for a second and he would reach out hand shaking wanting more. You would have thought that he would never get to drink a smoothie again. He drank the whole thing pretty quick.

A Surprise Entry for Jason (from Will)

I've had it in my mind that Jason should do a "Tagged" entry, since he is definitely as silly as his parents.
  • The kid has no sense of danger when it comes to being thrown around. This is definitely a side-effect of playing with his Uncle Matt. Upside down, going towards the ground at full speed, the kid loves it.
  • He may look like a cute kid, but his back looks like we beat him, something-fierce. He's got Mongolian spots (apparently common for Asians), but with his mom's fair skin mixed in, they're pretty noticeable. I'm waiting to be arrested in 4 years when a teacher notices and calls the cops.
  • He's got our morning routine down pat. When I brush my teeth, he locates and plays with the toothpaste. He spits in the sink when Kristin spits. Give him my shaver and he runs it along his face. He puts the deoderant on under his arms. Runs his fingers through his hair when I put in my gel. He even snorts my Nasonex, even though he can't get the medicine . . . and he gets mad if Kristin doesn't let him get in on the makeup action.
  • His first movie was the "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", which he attended at 5 days.
  • He's a total vegetarian. Fruits, especially strawberries and bananas, he really enjoys. Is an avocado a fruit? Well, he definitely loves them.

That's all I have time for.

Teeth and Hair

Well pictures of Yellowstone and Idaho will have to wait. Will did get his teeth filled yesterday. They had an opening at 2:15. It is quite weird going to identical twin dentists. You really don't know who you are going to.

So I finally got tired of my hair and needed a change. Mickie's friend was cutting hair last night, so I took advantage of it. I think it turned out really well. I did the before and after pictures, you know the ones where there is no make-up, in bad lighting, frowning. Then in the next I am smiling, better lighting, with make-up. Ha I love those before after pictures.

The guys including Travis went out disc golfing. I think they had a fun time. Travis walked out of Sharon's house commenting that there was to much estrogen in that house. Talking about hair and baby names.
The Jasons played guitar hero with Mickie and Kenz.

Filling

I forgot to mention that last night as Will was flossing his teeth. Out came the floss and out came a filling. Humm dang we had dentist appointments on June 11th too. So close. I guess I should make an appointment for him to get his tooth filled. I don't think he likes a huge hole in his tooth.

Yellowstone

Well I left my camera in the car, so here are some pictures I stole off of Kelly's blog. We had such a good time hanging out with family and friends.

Jason had a fun time playing with Tanner. He is 9 months and so funny to watch.

This is a picture Kelly took. I think it is really good.

In Yellowstone HD and Mat went and played with the Buffalo. They were crazy. Can you see Matt looks a little nervous at this point when he cant get back to us.

I will post more when I get my camera.

Packing

Not much to report today. Last night I went to a class on Nursery rhymes. It is pretty interesting how many you know off the top of your head.

We then ate strawberry shortcake at Ray and Linda's with Steph and the boys. It was really good and nice to visit. That's pretty much it. Now I am off to pack... Hope I don't forget anything.

Doors, frolf, and gardens

Yesterday Will and I took advantage of the fact that we had Matt and Mickie's car. We took our silly car in and got the door fixed. We called around that the dealership wanted to charge us 150 just to take the door off, then we called Mickie's favorite place and they said 70 to take the door off. All in all we could have fixed the car door if it weren't for the fact that I child proofed it. It was a simple 3 dollar clip that needed to be changed. How silly. I am glad that it was under a hundred bucks or I would have never heard the end of it.

Jason and I had a fun time in the Noni gardens. They are so pretty. He loves going up and down on that silly bridge. He will spend hours on it if he had the chance.

We also went frolfing with Matt and Mickie. Everyone had a pretty good time.

After frolging this is how we found them... I think they were all tuckered out.

Sitting and worrying

Yesterday was a day of watching Kailye. I really didn't watch her to long, but it was till a good amount of time to have fun. Jason is so funny about it. He would follow her where ever she went.

We also made some cookie, that Trish probably had to bake when she got home. I watched a show on tv and they liked to bake with their kids. What they did was pre-measure stuff into bowls and have the kids dump the bowls in the mixer. Everyone in in a win win situation. I will probably do that again, (a few more dishes, but its worth it).

We also went to pick up Matt and Mickie's car from the shop. We however went to the wrong place and thought their car was stolen. So after a bit of freaking out we started to drive home and found the right place. The car was sitting just where they said. It was a pretty stressful 30 min.

Is that really me?

Yes, I think that is me. Capris and everything... How on earth did Will convince me to wear something other then JEANS?

What a weirdo...

Cars, boats, and planes

It has been a very busy weekend for us. Saturday Matt and Mickie's car broke down and now is in the shop down here. Ray was down in Provo and so we called him and he helped tow Matt and Mickie. It sure is nice to have relatives in the area with a truck. I had my camera with me at the time and I wanted to take a picture, but Mickie and I decided that people don't like there pictures taken at high stress times, so Mickie staged a picture for me.

The afternoon was full of Pirates. We had a pirates party with the Maxwells, Spences, and Mauss. It was pretty fun and there was a ton of food. I ate so much candy and cookies that I don't want to eat another cookie for a while. I do however still have that craving for a banana cream pie...

Jason never took a nap on Saturday and he sure voiced that he was tired at the end of the second movie. I think he is still a little to young not to take naps.

Sunday Edward came over. He has a conference for a few days in SLC, so he spent the day before with us. It was pretty much a usual Sunday afternoon/night. I think he enjoyed seeing Jason, even if Jason never said any of his words while he was here. Jason did however give Edward the coldest greeting. I felt so bad. Jason didn't get the chance to wake fully up before Will pulled him out of his crib. So he stood next to Will, scowling at Edward. Probably after 30 min he finally would play with him.
I have also enjoyed the bubble blower Troy and Tracie gave me...

Another blogger?

Matt and Mickie have started a blog. Humm this should be interesting. I hope our stories don't contradict each other (you know how the Bragg's get some times exaggerating).

Stuck

Last night Matt and Mickie came over to play disc golf again. I had dinner already when I got a call at 6:30 that said they were at a standstill in AF. Well and hour later and to late to go frolfing we had dinner and hung out. We rescheduled to go tonight and tomorrow morning. I think the guys are excited to play twice.

Shigella

Yes we found out that pretty much everyone who went to Guatemala got Shigella. My dad and Colton were tested and found positive for it. The doctor in Oregon told us all to get on the medicine asap because it is highly contagious. The good/bad thing about me is that I have a mild case (thank goodness), but I can't take any medicine because I am pregnant. So I have to let it run its course and pray it doesn't come back. What can you do?

Poor Matt told his boss and they told him not to go to work until he is treated for it. No one wants to get it. So he has the next few days of work off. I wonder how long it takes for him to go crazy...

Will is so nervous about catching it. I think he will be fine. We have a lot better hygiene here then in Guatemala. And now we know the symptoms and what he needs to be tested for, just in case. Will thinks that the name should be changed from shigella to adding a T in between the I and G.

Matt and Mickie's last day in Guatemala was spent sleeping because Mickie was sick...

I forgot to mention. Jason's first doctor would not give him medicine. So we took him in to another doctor and she said with that many cases of it we are just giving him the medicine.

Disc golf

Well as you can tell it is disc golf season again. Matt and Mickie are out of school for the summer and have a lot more free time. As a result we are going disc golf a lot more. It is nice to get out and walk around. Jason does have a blast at the end. We take him out and last night Matt and Jason played fetch (ok really Matt threw a disc and Jason went and got it) they both were amused for quite a while.

We passed this billboard as we were driving home and I really liked it. I also like the Shriek and Kermit billboards as well.

Farewell dinner

Art left today for Mexico. Steph and the boys are still here for just a little while longer. What a sad day. Last night they took us out to dinner and we had a great time. Dinner was pretty good and the boys enjoyed playing with each other. Parker and Jason would run up and down the ramp yelling boo.

Well they will only be gone for 2 years, and by the time they get back Art will be rusty at disc golf and Will will be able to beat the pants off his teacher, haha. But there kids will be able to beat up our kids, so you win some and lose some.

Sad to say that the computers power supply has almost had it. I have to replace it today. Wish me luck and if I don't write tomorrow I probably blew it up.

He sure does make it tought to get things done on the computer.

Weed pickers

To my wonderful weed picking sister. The yard looks fantastic, thank you so much for helping! Jason really enjoyed weeding with you, any excuse to get into the dirt.

The pasta salad you made turned out to be delicious on Saturday. And also Jason appreciated you pushing him up some of the hills when we went disc golfing. What a good sister I have!

Mother'd day weekend

This weekend went pretty well. We gave the electric lawn mower grandma and grandpa Coombs gave to us to Katy, off of their wish list and we bought a gas one. Poor Will never mowed with a gas one before and well he learn a few lessons the hard way.

He came in at one point and said I wish we still had the electric. That was not a good sign. I think now that Matt helped him things will go better next time. Will had touched the moter and burned his fingers pretty bad. They don't hurt him any more, but now he knows not to touch the hot part.

After he burned his fingers, Matt said I am just going to do it and mowed the front and back for us. We really appreciated that.

There was a lot of disc golfing on Saturday and Sunday was an ok day. It was pretty hard because Jason cried all morning for no reason and we had a "review" day in primary. That is so hard to not have a lesson with the group of kids that we have. We ended up decorating cookies for our moms and played some word games. It was an interesting day. After we all took naps things turned out a lot better.

Will's Entry: The Mall - Revisited

Last night Kristin and I did something we have never done (and it was at her suggestion). We decided to eat somewhere where we've never been. We decided on Wingers (how adventurous are we?). It was very good. Kristin and Jason definitely appreciated the free popcorn they serve as an appetizer. I enjoyed my fish and chips and Kristin's steak sandwich was good though the texture got to her (totally just a pregnancy thing). They gave us a free slice of ice cream pie. It was enormous and we were stuffed for the evening.

Afterwards we went to the mall. We bought lots of games: a chess set for me - it's taken a long time because I'm picky, Five Crowns - a game that we enjoyed playing with Troy and Tracie, and games/activities for our Primary class. I'll bet they'll love them.

Finally we let Jason play at their playground. He was so good! Literally from about 30 feet away, he spotted the playground and just jetted for it. Climbed the stairs, waited his turn and would slide down. He'd get off of it immediately (not like some other kids who would try running up it) and then just run around and climb the stairs again. Repeat multiple times. I was very impressed because if there were people ahead of him, he wouldn't get impatient or anything. He'd stand and wait until I'd say "Go Go Go". Happy as a clam, he was. I guess he could get better at leaving the playground, he's never very happy about that.

PS - Kristin did very well with the 3 boys. Neither little one wanted to take a nap when there was so much excitement, but everyone had fun. I worked from home in the afternoon for moral support, but it really wasn't necessary. Goes without saying, but we'll be bummed when the Maxwells move to Cozamel.

3 boys

Well I don't have much time to write today. I am watching Parker and Brighton. I think so far everyone has been having fun. We are trying to think up different things to do so that we won't get to bored today.

Do you see how many avocados there are... Will would be in heaven!
We are standing directly on our shadows. How cool is that!
Colton and Matt really liked the wording on the sign before we did the canopy tour.
Every one thought that Matt was Jason's dad. I hope he didn't mind.
My mom put Jason on this black hot stone to take a picture. We had no clue it was that hot. Once Jason put his hands and legs down he started to cry.
Here is a nice picture next to the hot rock!

Internet guy

Well all morning we have had the Internet guy here. They called us up and asked if they could switch out our old equipment for new stuff. It was very sper of the moment and it took forever. He was here for 2 hours. Well hopefully our Internet will work a little better now.

Collecting the humm.... sample was a lot messier then I thought. Lets just say that Saran wrap is not very absorbent and I had a big mess to clean up on the wood floor. Thank goodness it was not on the carpet.

Well last night we had Matt and Mickie over for dinner and a round of disc golf. I of course could not stomach what I made, but everyone else said it was good. Disc golf went really well. We got a few mosquito bites, but Matt scored a 1 under and Will scored his best ever at a 5 under. He has been floating on cloud nine ever since. Good job Will, that will be a hard score to beat!

I had his pants off so that they would not get messy, and he decided to take his shirt off all by himself. Humm I don't think I will let him run around naked to often, but he sure was happy.

Doctors and fire alarms

Last night we had over the guy from the fire lecture. I was really interested in the smoke detectors that they were selling, very high tech, until we found out how much money they were. They were 300-400 dollars a piece. So we were suppose to get 6 at the least at 2,500 bucks. Humm no thank you.

We have been having some problems with the car door. It won't open from the outside, and I absent minded put the child lock on. How dumb was that, so now we can't open that door at all. It should be interesting we are not quite sure what to do.

Gilmore girls is raping up there final season on Tuesday. I could tell that the pregnancy hormones are starting to get me because I actually cried a little. It was pretty silly. I am glad that Will was at basketball when it happened.

Jason and I both went to the doctor this morning. They think he might have a parasite, so I have to collect a stool sample (that should be interesting) and then we will get it checked out. I am doing pretty well the doctor said. Everything is looking normal. It is such a relief. She even remembered me. She saw my name on the patient list and though "is she pregnant again already?"

Ok one last thing. On the phone at lunch Will was talking to a co-worker. At the end of the phone call he looked at me and said "Love ya, bye" Oh my gosh we laughed for a long time after that. How embarrassing!

Will's Surprise Entry: Another Yummm

I thought I ought to say that the steaks we had from Ruby River might have been the best Kristin and I have ever had. I can't speak for her, but I know it was for me. Didn't need steak sauce or nothin'!

On a lighter note that made me sad in the long run:

When I was a deacon, all the older ones would ask me "How do you like your steak, WELL DONE!?!" (Obviously only makes sense if you remember my full name)

Then I remembered the song they made for me:

"Will-de-beast, from the Far East . . . eats his sushi with a fork - YUM!!!"

Sigh, I had a tortured childhood.

Still sleeping

Well I thought I would take this opportunity and write while Jason is still sleeping. Yeah it is weird 9:30 in the morning and he is still sleeping. I think he has the touch of something. I caught something on the plane and have had this little cold for the last 2 days. I hope that I can shake it today. I have really taken for granted medicine when you are sick. It is now that I don't feel comfortable taking it that I realize how nice that convince is.

Last night Will and I went to a free dinner at Ruby River. It was put on by a fire prevention company. The dinner was free and all they did was tell you how to be safer when it comes to fires. I think there scare tactic worked because Will and I are having the guy come over and look at our house. Did you know that the normal cheap fire alarms (ionic) work only 55% of the time quickly. I think we will probably by some new alarms and get some fire extinguishers. I think that scone fire taught me that lesson of having a few on hand. The dinner was really good and there was nothing to buy. It was very interesting.
Yes Jason drank that whole drink by himself!

People liked to stare at him.

There ain't nobody here but us chickens!

I don't blame him, the floor was so much cooler.

I got sunburned and I had to put Jason to sleep. What was I to do, but feel the burn, ouch!

My favorite picture I took.

Will's Entry: Mmmm Yum

I know that more than hearing about Kristin and Jason's trip to Guatemala, everyone wants to know how my dinner turned out.
I didn't learn much from the cooking class that Kristin and I took at BYU, but I gained confidence. If I have a recipe, I'm not too intimidated. So even though this recipe involved the actual cutting of vegitables like potatoes, peppers, garlic (no Tracie, I didn't use a knife & fork), and onion, it wasn't too intimidating. I roasted the chicken and it tasted very good. Well, I just wanted to say "Mission Accomplished!"

Back in the states!

We are back home and the trip was great fun. It is nice to go on adventured and visit other countries, but I like being able to come back to my own bed. For the last few days we went to chichicastinango, panajachel, and another city that I don't know how to say. We did a lot of shopping in the markets.

Driving to the cities were an experience. You drive up this mountain, on one side is the mountain and the other side is a huge drop off. At one point I didn't think we were going to make it up those tiny lanes. Our car started smoking and we were struggling to get up the mountain. Thankfully we made it, because I don't know what we would have done if the car stopped working.

The chicken buses were also crazy. There is a driver and a person hanging out the door telling the driver to go, stop, and direct traffic. They were weaving in and out of traffic driving so fast. They were crazy. They would pass us going around a corner not being able to see if a car was coming or not. I guess they figured that they would win if they were in an accident. They were crazy and we almost saw a few accidents from them.

My family did get drunk on there labor day. A few of them asked for a pina colada and well it came with alcohol. Mickie said that it burned all the way down. Ok they really didn't get drunk, but they all had 2-3 sips of the stuff. I am glad that I can say I still have never drunken alcohol.

We took a boat over to an open market. The market was so crowded. It was nuts how packet it was. They had dried fish there, and it made Mickie and my mom so sick. It didn't even phase me. I told them they wouldn't last in Hong Kong with all the fish stores.

The flight home was not terribly fun. First off I did not eat breakfast because it was to early in the morning and I thought I would just snack and then eat at 1 when we land. Well we sat on the plane for 2 hours waiting to take off. One of the flight equipment did not work. My parents missed their flight and if it had been another 15 min I would have missed my connecting flight as well. I was not able to get food in between the flights. thankfully I told Will to meet me with food. As soon as we got to the car I stuffed myself. Poor Jason sat there and cried as I at. He would say mmmmmm as I took a bite. I feed him shortly after.

It is amazing how much a kid changes in a week. When we left he really didn't say anything and when we got back now he says cracker, grandpa, and there you are. It is hard to hear at first, but once you hear it you know what he is saying. I had gone ahead of my parents and when we saw them again, Jason saw my dad and automatically said "bam-pa" He really knew who he was. It is exciting to see the connections he is making now.

I know this is a long entry, but the last thing is that Mickie and my mom got pretty sick. We think they just have a case of food poisoning. I am glad that Jason doesn't seam to be sick.
